The easiest and most comfortable way to get from Athens to Nafplio is by car. The distance is about 138 km, it is about a 2 hour drive with tolls along the way.
There are also KTEL buses that link Athens to Nafplio, with frequent departures from Kifisos station. You can find more specific information about timetables and itineraries on www.ktelargolida.gr. The journey takes approximately two and a half to three hours and offers a scenic route through the Peloponnese countryside.

Fortress in the town of Nafplio on top of the hill. Accessible by car but for the very brave you can reach it by climbing many many steps (it's less than a thousand).
Wiki MapsUsually mixed up with Palamidi by Kostis, Bourtzi is a water castle located in the harbour of Nafplio. It is accessible by boat (with a small fee) from Nafplio's port.
Wiki MapsBest sand beach you will find within 10 minute drive. Lots of beach bars and spaces to bring your own umbrella. The beach is quite shallow and attracts children.
